Medical Administrative Assistant

Serve as Medical Administrative Assistant for the Waycross VA Outreach Clinic.
Manages medical administrative functions associated with primary care program for the facility.
Assists professional staff with and handles administrative functions of the office.
These functions include but are not limited to the following duties:
o Gathers administrative information regarding patients for managers and oversees patient medical and administrative records reviewing all records for clearance and coordinates release of information.
o Manages registrations, admissions and scheduling for the facility.
o Exercises control and has continuing responsibility for projects, questions or problems associated with determining eligibility, patient processing or receptionist activities for the facility.
o Authorizes, denies, and coordinates transportation for patients, handle notification of family members, and coordinate arrangements with other health care facilities.
o Acts on behalf of the Administrative Officer and Chief Medical Officer managing staff schedule, time and leave, and assist and inform the Medical Center Director, Associate Medical Center Director and Chief of Staff on program administrative policies, resource utilization and work load projections.
o Prepares and/or assists in the initiation or revision of administrative policies, assist Administrative Officer for personnel management functions including:
recruitment, staffing, performance appraisals process, employees awards, pay/leave administration, performing necessary research related to human resource management issues.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
